Fort Randall Dam
The Fort Randall Dam and the Missouri River are located only 12 miles from Wagner. The river provides excellent water sports including water skiing, boating and sailing along with fishing.
On the bank of the Missouri River immediately below the Fort Randall Dam, hours can be spent peacefully watching the water flow, observing the animals and birds that frequent the area and enjoying the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding shoreline. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began building the dam in 1946 and started generating electricity in 1954.
